Three or more Thursday

Tam over @ The Gypsy Corner has started a fun, new play day called Three or more Thursday. I have 3 of just about everything so I thought it would be a neat way to share some of my collections & envy others their's. ;o)

This is the front of my kitchen island. It's supposed to be a bar but we never used it as such & I desperately needed storage for my cookbooks so hubby made it into a bookshelf instead. It also gives me a place to store most of my ironstone soup tureen collection which is my "3 or more" that I'd like to share today. The two on the upper left & lower right were my mother's & are what started the collection. I used to have several more tureens but pared the collection down, due to lack of space. I do have one more small tureen & I'm on the look-out for more, to use in tablesettings but I don't want any more large ones. None of my tureens are marked but a few have Japan stamped into the ironstone.

I use them for soup of course but they're great for storage too. Each one of these, contains some of that junk that accumulates that you never know where to put. I just dump them out & wash them beforefilling them with soup. ;o)

Tam has a great blog & a wonderful sense of style...go give her a "look see".

I love your soup tureens! I gave my sister-in-law one for christmas a couple years ago that was handmade pottery. It had a beautiful white matte glaze on it. What a great thing to collect!

I love both your soup tureens and cookbooks, plus the way you have them displayed. I'm all for showing and using whatever your collection is. I tend to hide things in anything with a lid, lol! Great place for extra keys, pins, and knick knacks.
I hope you have a fantastic day!

I love what you have done with your kitchen island. That is a cute idea and giving you more display space too. Love how you have your things arranged in there. Welcome to Three or More Thursdays.

What a wonderful collection!!! I love soup tureens and your ironstone ones are just lovely. I can understand that you are shying away from collecting any more large ones. I'm also scaling back because my 'dish addiction' has taken over my home...LOL.
Thank you for participating in Three Or More Thursday. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your collections.
Have a wonderful Sunday,
Tam
