Junkin' Monday

I told y'all last Monday, that I had some really good finds from the cattle barns flea market & from an estate sale....here's my score from last weekend. This first set of pictures is from teh Cattle Barns (there is a flea market set up inside one of teh cattle barns @ Will Rogers Coliseum..it's open year-round except when teh rodeo is in town in Jan....GOOD hunting grounds!).

I LOVE the bi-fold mirror. Wish it were a tri-fold but those are usually pricey...this one was only $15.

Majon jar full of sherbet-colored threads on wood spools.

Aren't these tiny, little dolls adorable? I bought them from my friend, JunkerVal @ Grandma's Attic...I also bought a lace tablecloth from her but it went straight into the wash.

Love this pin....& it was only $5!

I've been looking for egg cups for a couple of yaers now...cheap eggcups I should say. At $20 for a box of six, I don't know if these qualify as "cheap" but they were affordable & I'm tired of looking. ;o)

There is a lady, @ the cattle barns who always has wonderful vintage earrings for only $3 a pair...I usually come home w/ several lovelies. Also brought home a crystal bottle stopper to add to my collection & a paper?/velvet? rose. Not sure what it's made of but it has a fuzzy, papery feel to it.

Also got a big bag of mostly vintage buttons...for only $1!

I asked this old, oriental lady dealer how much she wanted for her dog bed & she said "You mean the doll bed?" & I said, "No, it's a dog bed." & she said, very emphatically "Noooo, it's for dolls!" & I replied, "Oh no, it's a doggie bed." To which she exclaimed "maybe if you have a very spoiled dog!".

I paid her asking price of $10 for the bed (complete w/ shabby chic liner) but didn't bother to tell her that my dogs have a bed in each room, plus they sleep w/ us & are allowed on the furniture. LOL

The Victorian'esque photo album in the bed above, has the loveliest pages w/ birds, cherubs & puppies...had to have it!

I also bought this old tree-topper from Val...it's a nice one to add to my collection.

After the flea markets, we took the dogs home (yep, they love to flea too!) & headed to the grocery store. On the way, I saw an estate sale sign & talked hubby into stopping. I'm so glad I am persuasive...everything was half off & a lot of it was vintage!

I neglected to get a picture of the old Santa but he is too sweet...50 cents!

Needlepoint rug/sham...again at half off a $1, so 50 cents. It's in almost perfect condition.

Was hoping to turn this beaded shell into a vest but even the armholes are too small. :o(

But I had to have it...look how much it's previous owner cared for it! Enough to keep it stored in this beautiful handmade bag. Too sweet! The sweater & bag was half off so only $5.

Beautifully embroidered table runner for $1!

Chantal tried to teach me these buillion knots at the Paper Cowgirl retreat but I just couldn't get the hang of them.

I don't know what I'll do w/ this hot air ballon Santa but @ only a quarter, he was coming home w/ me.

Sweet hugger Santa.

Beaded boot arnament.

And that old lady had an eye for glitz just like mine....look at this bag of sequins, beads & glittery trims!

They had stacks of books in a corner ...a dollar for all you could fit in a bag. I picked out a few for my son, one for the grands & then I just bought the older looking books w/out looking through them or even reading the titles...knwoing that I would use them for something.

SCORE!!!! The big book is titled, Hammond's Pictorial Library of Pets, Plants & Animals... it's from 1953 & is filled w/ fabulous illustrations.

Horses....

And doggies....

Fruits.....

And flowers....lots & lots of flowers!

What a great pile of loot you have there!!

Love the little dolls, and the bead top.
Maybe you can make a purse out of it since it did not work for a vest.

What a deal on that Santa! Great score there! Love that blue & white pin too! It's a good thing we don't live near each other. We'd be competing for loot! LOL! ;O)

What a HAUL! Good scores, though I am particularly attracted to the egg cups. Don't have an inkling how to eat an egg that's perched in one of those little cups, but I still love them!!
