Another Junkin' Monday!

Hello & welcome to another Junkin' Monday, hosted by Clara & Marcela @ Cottage Charm & Inspiration. Today I'm sharing finds from last week @ the Cattle Barn Flea Market, located in Ft Worth. It's held year round (except when the rodeo is in town in January), inside one of the vacant cattle barns of Will Roger's Coliseum. It's a fun place to go junkin' but sometimes they can be a bit over-priced. Many booths still offer great deals though....I almost always buy something from my friend Valerie @ Grandma's Attic. She has such a fun booth w/ lots & lots of old stuff @ great prices that I hardly ever walk away empty-handed. But if I don't stop bringing stuff in, I'll have to move hubby & his stuff out. LOL

I had a really good day @ other dealer's booths though. Not pictured is a set of old, aged muslin curtains w/ a great ruffled trim. It's a huge set of curtains for only $2...even if I scrap the whole set & just use the material, it will be a bargain. This is the rest of my finds for the day....apothecary jar, crystal glasses, crocheted edge doily, crocheted edge dish towel, bling & vintage ephemera.

I LOVE these glasses & they are my favorite find of the day (of the month actually). I've needed a new set of everyday glasses for a while but I'd much rather go vintage than new so I had to be patient. My old set was Indiana Glass in the Whitehall pattern (clear) but they've been damaged by the dishwasher & are getting cloudy. This is also Indiana Glass but it's in the Diamond Point pattern. (I also have wine goblets in this pattern). The points don't feel uncomfortable in your hand at all...in fact, they are very comfortable w/ a nice, balanced weight to them. I got 13 glasses for $20...I would't have paid much less for dollar store glasses. LOVE them! And not a chip or a cloudy spot on them.

This fish-bowl shaped apothecary jar was only $3.

Rhinestone crown & fleur de lis pendants...not vintage but who cares? It's a crown & fleur de lis!!!!

Vintage bling! There's a booth @ the barns that has incredible prices...she sells the clip-on earrings for $3 a pair. And I only paid $5 for the little rhinestone key pin.

The "jeweled" belt buckle was only $1 & the pins were $5 & $3.

I also scored this great box of assorted ephemera.

One dollar for the whole box!!!! I didn't even bother to see what all was inside...I wanted to wait until I got it home & be surprised.

Lovely assorted stickers. The paste has long since dried up on them but I can still use glue.

Birdie stickers.

And some vintage tags.

Very old package decorations.

Sweet old butterfly.

I adore this tiny, old bird & nest...can't wait to use it!

Love the aged lilies of the valley!

After the cattle barns, we headed out west to First Monday Trade Days @ Weatherford. Now Weatherford trade days are nothing like Canton First Mondays. It's a whole lotta junk & I'm not talking the good kind! But we took the dogs for fun & I managed to find a few finds.

I love the ironstone ruffled bowls & they were only $5 for all 4.

Sweet, tiny little print of Pinkie ($1). She'll look great as a vignette under a cloche.

This necklace was my "big" purchase of the day...$15.

The vintage poodle was only $2 & the lace runner was only a $1.

This necklace is much more charming on...it has rhinestone chains & great big "pearls" w/ a silver heart. Love it & it was only $5!

As y'all can tell, I'm a price-dropper. Yep, I love to brag about how little I pay for things. ;o) Go check out Clara & Marcela's Junkin' Monday post for more great bargains!

Ok you so scored over and over again. I feel like I am at one of those tag sales that the minute you get out of the car you know it is a fabo sale. You just want to spread your arms out wide and grap everthing for yourself before others arrive. My favorite is the $3.00 apothecary jar, yum! I see a lot of terrariums done in these jars, check these out!http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/fea/home/gardening/stories/DN-NHG_terrarium_0413liv.ART.State.Edition1.b2ed43.html

Love your finds, especially all of the goodies in that $1 box! Wow, that was certainly worth it. And, you've got to share what you've paid -- knowing that you've gotten a steal is half the fun!!!

Hey Cami!
I just love the box of ephemera,(what a deal!) and the glasses and pinkie, oh girl, I just love it all! I found some junk (I mean treasures) too this weekend...come see me when you get the chance! I need to join in on the Junkin' Monday's, Meme...maybe I will next time.

The sorbet looks delish...it's been still very hot (89 degrees), where we live, so I know how you feel sweetie... about it still feeling like summer. I so wish fall would come our way! LOL! It won't be much longer maybe sometime in Oct.
Big Hugs,

I love the glasses, too, and would love to have them!

The painting is terrific as well.

Good finds all! When I'm out and about I see things and think of you, and pick things up, trying to figure out why all of a sudden I'm attracted to them, and then I remember it's something that you'd like, grins!

Cami,
Just fabulous stuff. You made out great and price drop all you want. It makes me wonder why anyone would want to buy new when vintage things are so much better.

Carole
