Am I the only one who thrifts through the holidays?

I cannot resist thrift shopping.... even when I am knee deep in Christmas decor, wrapping paper & have a mile long "to do" list. Tell me I am not the only one who has it this bad? ;o) I need to point y'all out to hubby. *grins* So even if I haven't had the time to post about thrifting, I'm thrifting.

But it pays off sometimes. A couple of weeks ago, I found some lovely treasures...all for a little over $10.

A milk glass cake stand (I have one just like it but everything is better in pairs, don'tcha think? ), a cut glass cake plate (I finally have enough to use them as chargers on a table) & I also scored some chintz mugs. Yep, chintz! They're made by Royal Crown & were on sale for half off! I paid $3 for 4 mugs!!

I need more goblets like I need more dishes ;o) but I really liked these & I'm pretty sure they're vintage, so in the cart they went.

And I don't know what I will do w/ the chintz fabric but it had roses on it so in the cart it went as well.

Love this mini-nativity. I featured it in a recent tablescape post.

And what a hideous arrangement! why did I buy it, you ask?

Because look how charming the rabbit & bird on it are, after you remove the ugly flowers. It's been broken & then repaired though... previous owner tried to hide the damage w/ the arrangement. Surely I can do a better job of camouflaging than that!

I went on another thrifting jaunt w/ hubby this weekend & hope to post pics of it soon. Happy thrifting everybody!

Tom and I CONTINUOUSLY go THRIFTING!! Holidays or NOT...we love antique-ing or thrifting!!! But, I think because we BOTH like to go...it's NOT so bad...we don't plan to change anything!!! LOL!!! It kinda cancels out the other's addiction, when both love it! Right?

I love your chintz!!! Very pretty!!

It looks like you found some beauties! I went a couple of times through the holidays but was striking out! I am hoping that after Christmas people are de-cluttering and I can find some great things!

Who could resist all of that for just $10? Not me! I love the cake plate and the vase. Who cares if it's been broken? Nobody will know unless you tell them.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment on my tablescaping blog. I hope to do a new table this week.

Don't feel bad. When I was supposed to be out shopping for Chistmas gifts, I was buying plates for myself. They are still in the back of my van. I need a day when hubby is golfing so I can sneak them in and hang them up and use the "those old things?" reply. :-) There should be a support group for people like us. LOL I love, love, love the vase. Great eye!

I never thought about using clear cake plates for chargers. How clever of you! Now, I must search for them. I've been to Goodwill twice since Christmas already. Guess I have the thrifting bug also. Sally

I'd probably have to drug my husband to get him to go thrifting w/ me - do you know how lucky you are?! But, mine would go to a yard sale w/ me in a minute - except I don't do early! ;O)
I love all of your finds. It's a good thing we don't live close to each other b/c we'd being going for the same stuff. I came over to tell you that speaking of a candy table, when you get a chance, google candy chandy (or chandelier). I spent 2 hours (the crazy things I do for a post) b/c I apparently lost some blogs I follow, and couldn't find it, and several kinds of candy chandeliers came up (gummy bears, glass candy, etc.) They were all too cool! I can't imagine having the time to do that at Christmas. I'd have to start now! :O)

Oh, I LOVE searching for treasures! I have had your Noah on my mind and hope his seizures have resolved. FYI - I'm the commenter whose granddaughter was born the day after him (barely...a bit after midnight).

Wonderful finds. What a great idea to use the cut glass cake trays as chargers. Shoot! Now I have something else to be buying at flea markets! Yes, I think two of something is defnitely better than one lonely something. Love all of your finds. laurie

Oh, I love these!!! Great finds, Cami! And yes, things are better in pairs... I have two matching white cakestands, and that vase is adorable! I also love your white navitity set (I won one in a blog drawing and was thrilled). I love to go thrifting! You are not alone. :-)

I would enjoy if I thought I was finding great buys. In our little town, there aren't many opportunities. Occasional garage sales. I like your finds. Congratulations.

I love your new treasures. I wish we had thrift stores close by. I have to travel a hour to get to them. So, I don't go very often. I love the cakestand.

Okay I have only been to the thrift store a couple of times since Christmas. It is a sickness, but I did get a wonderful couple of props for my next photo shoot. I loved looking at that cheesecake (it was an oh my gosh, omg, moment) it is so beautiful. My whole family wants to diet and there was the cake AND the recipe. How am I going to make it through. Reading your blog was fun. Keep on posting. Deb

Okay what type of vase is it? We all love it if you have markings on it I would love to know so I can look for one too. That vase is so in my genre, as well as being white. Let us know. Deb

Oh, yes, I've kept thrifting at least one day per week. i found some great buys, expecially on holiday items. One of the thrift shops in town just sets things in boxes outside the door free for the taking. Yesterday, just inside the door they had a low table with a sign Free Christmas items!
