Wanted to share pics of my trip....

to Salado, Texas that Mother & I took recently, but w/ all the holiday business, I haven't had time to post pictures til now.

We stayed @ a wonderful bed & breakfast called Inn on the Creek. Jenna Bush had her bridal luncheon there last Spring.

You will have to forgive all the pics of me. My mother insisted. ;o)

I loved this fence of old bikes! We saw it coming into town & I had to get a picture of it.

And then of course, Mom had to get a picture of me. *grins* Check out how chic, the rose I got from Miz @ Unabashed Repetition, is on my jacket! You can see a closer view of it in this post .

The entry was fabulous!

Our room was lovely...w/ a clawfoot tub, window seat & big brass bed.

My beautiful mother...hard to believe she's 70, huh?

The window seat.

I couldn't get a good shot of the clawfoot tub...the bathroom was too small & the ceiling had a sharp slope on 2 sides. But you can see part of it through the bathroom door.

Great big, brass bed!

The view from our window.

The ONLY thing wrong w/ our room is that is was on the 3rd floor! Next time, we'll forego the view. ;o) Oh! And I had a hard time hanging w/ the dark green carpet it had in it. The 3rd floor was originally the attic, so it didn't have the beautiful hardwood floors that were through-out the rest of the inn.

The parlor.

The game room.

How cool is this antique viewfinder?

The creek was soo restful.

Chilling by the creek w/ a glass of wine.

Geeez...could I have any more chins?

The Inn's restaurant is on the left.

Their food was delicious & of course, I loved the breakfast table being ready for us when we arrived. For breakfast the first day, the chef made omelets & the second day, she made pecan pancakes. I got a cookbook from the inn as a souvenir. A signed copy!

This si the back half of the inn...it's so charming!

Our last breakfast.

Mother kept talking about this tea room that she knew that I would love so we had lunch there one day. And she was right...the Ambrosia Tea room is awesome. It's been featured in both Southern Lady & Tea Time (2 of my favorite magazines!). It's my favorite tea room I've ever been in!

I treasure this picture of Mom & I.

Loved the black, white & green color scheme of Ambrosia's. I bought a cookbook from here too. I collect regional cookbooks as souvenirs & always get filled w/ fond memories when I cook out of them.

And the way they decorated w/ vintage clothing, captured my heart.

We hit nearly all the shops but I didn't try to take many pictures. Last time I did that, I backed up to get a better shot & nearly destroyed a display. ;o) I did want to share this adorable greenhouse w/ animated Santa, that was outside one of the shops though. How cute!

Thank you so much Mom...I had a wonderful time & treasure the memories!

What a beautiful way to spend time with your mother. I think you and your mother are both beautiful. And she certainly doesn't look 70.
The bed and breakfast is wonderful. I have never stayed at one. I would love to someday.
Hugs, Terrie

The visit to the B&B with your Mother looks like so much fun, what a charming place and a great get away for you two girls.
I remember reading your blog a while back and am glad to hear that your son is doing better and I will keep Noah in my prayers too that his seizures will subside.
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
