Tablescape Tuesday

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had! It was relaxed & fun & filled w/ laughter & good food. And a pretty table never hurts festivities! ;o) I went w/ a pink theme this year, using a quilt as my inspiration & my tablecloth.

I accidently loaded up all the pictures in a medium size but you can click on them to enlarge.

My centerpiece was a glittered pumpkin on a large, vintage milk glass compote (the greens are just clippings out of my yard) & two arrangements of some of the prettiest pink roses I have ever seen.

The chargers are Lace by JCPenney.com, the dinner plates are Homer Laughlin Maple Leaf, the salad plates & the goblets are Arcoroc Pink Swirl (they're from the 70's not from the depression era) & the pumpkins are sitting in clear depression glass, champagne goblets in the Boopie pattern by Anchor Hocking. I also have liqeuer, juice, water, & tea goblets in this pattern. There is another simliar pattern called Candlewick & it has plates w/ the beaded edge....I want some! The silverware is a garage sale find from over 10 years ago. I used milk glass compotes as serving dishes for the cranberry jelly & pumpkin butter & added some milk glass votives. The pressed glass domes were for the butter slices.

My beloved Homer Laughlin Maple Leaf china!

I wrote each guest a little note, telling them why I am thankful for them & then rolled them up into a scroll & inserted them into spice jars, dressed up w/ lace & vintage clip-on earrings.

My note to myself cracked everyone up. Nothing wrong w/ my ego! LOL

My vintage salt & pepper praying ladies. I have 2 pair of them & they've presided over many of our Thanksgiving tables.

The grands' table (actually my coffee table). The centerpiece was brought as a hostess gift from my father-in-law so I had to use it. ;o) The roses are made of wood....too cool! While I appreciate the uniqueness of the wood roses, I don't care for the arrangement so I'll dismantle it & do something else w/ the roses. The "placemats" are paper doilies.

I made the kids haystacks (find recipe here ) & finished them off w/ a candy pumpkin.

We had another table of guests ( we had a larger crowd than anticipated) but we didn't set that table up until last minute & by then everything was rushed so I didn't get pics of it. May my house always be too small for all my family & friends!

Our dessert bar. There's pumpkin & eggnog fudge in the covered candy dish & frosted cranberries on the little pressed glass cake stand. Excuse the styrofoam plates...I had forgotten about holiday paper plates for the appetizer & dessert buffets & then decided not to stress on it. I don't even know if anyone but me (& now you) noticed.

Pumpkin Pie Flan that I garnished w/ a sugared rosemary sprig & Frosted Cranberries. As you can see, I caught my son Dustin cutting a slice, in the nick of time! We hadn't even had appetizers yet & he was cutting him a slice! Geeesh!

The pecan pie my sister made. And she says she can't cook!

Cranberry Brownie Torte that I had hubby decorate as I was busy w/ grandkids. I wish he had done the whipped cream poufs in a circle instead of scattering them across the top. :o( You want something done right, then you should do it yourself, I guess!

I didn't get pics of the appetizer bar. As soon as I put anything out, it got plowed through! LOL I do wish I had taken the time to get a pic of the new apothecary beverage jar my mother bought me in Salado though. It's beautiful! I'll share pics of it another time but it sure looked beautiful filled w/ the autumn punch.

The best time of the day for me was laying down w/ my grandson Coleson, to get him to take a nap & listening to my adult kids laugh & laugh & laugh in the other rooms. There were many other guests but my children's laughter carried the loudest through the walls....I guess they were having lots of fun w/ each other. It sure warmed this mother's heart.

Or was the best time of the day, watching my sons toss a football back & forth? They have spent many, many Thanksgiving afternoons doing just that but noone thought Clifton would be able to this year. And there he was...just like always! Gosh I have so much to be thankful for!!!! I hope you all had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as I had!

Can't wait to see all this week's tables @ Between Naps on the Porch !

Another beautiful table. I'm sure it warmed your heart to hear your family having a good time. If you get a minute, please share the Egg Nog Fudge recipe. I use to not like egg nog, but I've reformed & it sounds delicious!

In response to your comment, I was thinking the same thing...one of the bloggers did a Dr. Seuss baby shower, and I'd give alot to find that post. They had a great table in bright colors. Thanks for stopping by!

Your pumpkin and rose arrangements are just the right touch. That quilt is really, really, nice and works well for your table covering.
I am so thankful for you that you and your children's families were able to spend the day together and not in a hospital or rehab facility somewhere.
