I used black & cream toile paper (the same paper I backed the Rose sheet music on the mantel with) & regular ole construction paper. I glittered the edges of the construction paper & used vintage French knitting ribbon as ribbon ties. I didn't want Hocus Pocus to run together so I divided them w/ another "flag" that I added a crepe paper medallion w/ a black cat print-out on it.
Here's a close-up of the details.
I was able to make-over my mantel for Halloween just by switching out some big, wax roses w/ glittered pumpkins & hanging a banner. No fuss, no muss! I can't wait to make another one for fall & then for Christmas & then for Easter & so on & so on & so on. LOL

Also, Lynn over @ Lynnes Gifts from the Heart sent me this Boo! & I am supposed to pass it on. I'm not real sure about the rules to this game so I thought I'd just Boo! you all w/ a Boo! of my own. ;o)
This is my version of the "Boo" print-out, in apothecary jars, that everyone is doing this year. I think we all read the same magazine last year & put it on this year's to-do list. LOL I found the unusual, tall apothecary jars @ Hobby Lobby last year....half off!
I have stuck to my guns & haven't opened a single box of Halloween/Fall decor but I did buy a couple new skulls & a few glittery, spooky words. They were all just a couple of bucks each, so what the heck. The spiral suckers you may recognize from last year's pics. LOL Minus 2 since I let the oldest grands each have one @ our Halloween party. I just put them in a zip-loc & kept them in the pantry all year. They still look great but I won't let the grands eat them...just in case! I'll probably wrap them back up & see if I can't get another year out of them. ;o)
Come back next week & I'll share what else I've done this season. The rest of it doesn't have a definitive Halloween look so I thought I'd post it then.
I hope everyone gets the treats they deserve....Happy Halloween!

Love your BOO! :)
I found some "bargin" clearance yesterday on my way home from work that I can use for Thanksgiving. Nothing every looks as lovely as your scapes do though!
Happy Halloween!
Is that Youuuuuuuuu?!!!! Hahhaha! You're so right, what a small little world! That is so funny, I've been reading here (can't remember how I found you either!) and never realized I knew you! Bwahaha! How fun! Did you find KnitWit's blog? Rose stopped by once too but I don't have her email so I couldn't reply to her and I don't think she blogs. Joes2Girls popped by once too. Remember them? Whatever happened to the ol' HT? Here's my email:

Oh wait... I remember what I asked you yesterday! Is that written on your platter???? I love it!
Hi Cami-
Your banner turned out great. I liked that you used the words Hocus Pocus.
I was all excited to see the Pumpkin Biscotti recipe on the post before that. I love pumpkin too so any new recipe is welcome, and that's one I've never seen, gonna have to give it a try!
Thanks for dropping by my blog, I'm glad you enjoyed my Halloween Countdown.
Happy Halloween!!!
Sue
Now I know I need that eye dr. appt! When I first looked at those jars I was trying to figure out if you had done those letters w/ sugar, flour or sand & black sand or something like those crafts kids make where they poke the stick in the jar & make designs in the sand...so I was really impressed...and then I realized it was sheets of paper w/ the letters on it. DUH! Don't worry...I have an eye dr's appt. this coming week...I don't think it can get here fast enough! Happy Halloween!
Love your fireplace banner. And those apocothocary jars are wonderful. What creative decor you have shown us. I'm late getting here, but I sure enjoyed seeing it. laurie
Oh my gosh. I am so flattered! I have never made patterns to give away before. I have done lots of books for sale, but this is the first time I have made patterns available on my blog. I looked at your blog a couple of days ago and I thought your banner looked so cute and it did not dawn on me until tonight when I slowed down long enough to read and enjoy your blog that I found my name. You have made me feel so worthwhile. Thank You. Deb
I love the Boo in the apothecary jars! Such a cute idea! Your banner turned out great!
