Caralyn dressed appropriately for the occasion & wore one her many butterfly shirts. If isn't pink or has a crown or a butterfly on it, then she ain't wearing it. ;o) She really is crazy about butterflies. For Christmas this past year, I gave her a beautiful children's tea set...it's covered in butterflies.
This next butterfly is incredibly large...w/ a wing span probably of about 8". This side of it is interesting looking w/ the eye spots but the top sides of the wings are a beautiful iridescent blue.
I tried to capture a pic of the blue sides but never really could. This is as good as I could get...sorry!
Here's the cocoon house.
Lots of cocoons!
We got to see them release the "new" butterflies but this picture didn't capture them. Many of them dropped immdediately at our feet & we had to stay still until the butterfly guy picked them up. You are not allowed to touch any of the plants or butterflies in this exhibit...good thing we left Coleson AKA Mr Grabby @ home.

We went to the one in Boise a few years ago when it was here, sweets. They were very particular about the butterflies and would only allow so many in at one time, but it was truly fascinating to watch them. I loved it, sugar, truly amazing.

How fun! I think they have something like that here...I'll have to check it out. I think the Grands would love it!
Your granddaughter is adorable in her butterfly shirt- and your photos are beautiful!
Oh how beautiful! I love butterflies!! We are lucky to have a permanent Butterfly enclosure at our Melbourne Zoo, it's always fun (and hot) going in there!
What a fun place to take your grand daughtrer. I love how she wore a butterfly shirt; so cute! That was a day of creating memories together for sure!
Looks like loads of fun...we may have to take a drive over as well. But can you believe today? Good gosh...happy first day of Spring (said sarcastially, as the freezing head-winds blows my face off). LOL.

The butterflies are amazing! Great post. My GRANDS went with their mother to see this & really enjoyed it. I think I am supposed to see you on Tuesday so I'll bring your stuff then. Did you finish your cake? All I have to do is line my box & fill it with the goodies to be shipped. Ready for it to be GONE from my kitchen (seems like it has lived there forever). Thanks for the sweet comment about my front walkway. I do love all the flowers. What I don't love is the weeding of those HUGE beds. HUGS! Charlene
Looks like fun times!!

The only thing that can eclipse the beauty of these butterflies is your precious little granddaughter!

Caralyn is so sweet! Loving that butterfly shirt. We've had butterflies flitting all over the place around here too believe it or not. Not as many colorful ones as you were able to see, of course! The weather in Texas is just crazy right now. Stay warm! and have a great day! :) Tammy
Such fun. Your Caralyn is precious, and I'm sure she will have such fond memories of her butterfly adventures! ~ Angela
Oh are butterfly gardens not the most beautiful experience?!?! There is one in Florida, near Melbourne. I am so glad you and your niece...and oh yeah, "grouchy" got to go and experience this. Beautiful pics!!! And I didn't even drool - I just enjoy watching them, I don't chase them or anything. I'm a good boy!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi ! Thank you for your nice comments on my blog. My bell's palsy is so much better!! I love your butterfly photos. I have a wonderful memory of being with my son at the SF Zoo...they had this enclosed netted area and you could get little cups of nectar to hold for the butterflies...so fun!
Caralyn is just such a little doll. Would love to visit this garden. Butterflies are magical!
BEEEutiful pictures!!!
