Hello & welcome to another Trim a Tree Thursday! I'm trimming a different kind of tree today. Brush trees!
Here they are in their "before" state. I tried bleaching some brush trees a couple of weeks ago but even though, I left them in the bleach overnight, it had no effect. So I spray-painted, flocked & glittered those. Then I bought some more @ Big Lots & realized that they were made out of 2 different materials. The trees that wouldn't bleach (& they had those @ Big Lots also) were stiffer & more like plastic. These are a softer, brushier material.
After soaking in bleach water overnight.

Beautiful Vinty, just plain beautiful!
Oh my, how innovative! I bought some green bottle brush trees yesterday and I never thought to bleach and roll them! I must go to Big Lots!
Look at that! Very fun. They really look great!!
So some bottle brush trees are brushier than others? LOL Do you think a teacher is grimacing somewhere? ;)
Continued T&Ps for Noah.

So cute of an idea. I wish I had a bigger house!!!
CUTE brush trees! Love what you did to them. And I noticed your Santa Mug collection. My mother had about 5 or 6 that she always put in the kitchen window sill with springs of Christmas tree branches and tiny red berried. Your mugs brought back a lot of sweet memories. Thanks! Have a blessed holiday!
The bleached trees are lovely. Big Lots has lots of bargains.
Christmas hugs,
Charlotte

I love this idea! I'll have to find me some trees after Christmas and give this a try. I love the easter color idea. So smart!
WOW! I didn't know you could bleach the brush trees! They look awesome! I like the vintage garland beads, too!
Thanks for stopping by...the feathers on the top of the tree are actually feather picks that my husband found at a craft store!
Merry Christmas!
