Halloween Parrrrrrrty!

I have decided that, even though things are slowing down here a bit, I am not going to drag out my fall decor & rip my house apart. It would take 2 days to put Halloween up, another 2 to take it down & get Thanksgiving up & then another 2 days to take it all down to put Christmas up. So I am not going to open so much as one box or take down one lace curtain! (I may renege on the curtains ....just so you know ;o) It just doesn't seem like fall w/ lace curtains up) I do think I'll use some of the time to make a Halloween banner & glitter up some pumpkins though. I'll do that this weekend & I can do those things w/out making a disaster of my house.

But I do want to share photos of last year's Halloween decor w/ y'all so that I can attend Vanessa's Halloween party. Last year, I went all out. This is a china cabinet in my living room. It is always jam-packed but the contents differ from season to season...usually.

Candy bar on the sofa table (it's actually a dropleaf table used as a sofa table.) At holiday parties, I pull out one leaf & set it up w/ the nibbles.

This is my coffee table arrangement.

I topped a jack-o-lantern ornament w/ a teeny-tiny cloche (it's probably a votive holder for a candelabra) & set them atop an upside down candlestick. A bowl full of vintage glass beaded necklaces, a brooch and a couple more jack-o-lantern ornaments.

I used a vintage piece of sheet music atop a vintage mirror as a base for the arrangement. The gumstick is NOT part of the decor...my grands have a habit of stashing stuff everywhere & I didn't even notice it in the votive when I took the pic.

The weathered antique sign is from an old antique store in Ft Worth. It's been out of business for years though.

My dining room centerpiece. I often set up tablescapes including stacks of dishes & then we just grab one off the table when it's time to eat.

Love this guy!

I wrote "Boo!!!' w/ a bright coral lipstick on the guest bathroom mirror. It added just the right holiday touch!

Now I'm off to Vanessa's @ A Fanciful Twist (what a wonderful blog she has!) to visit w/ all the party-goers. Have fun @ the party everybody& don't forget to thank our wonderful hostess!

Like you, I haven't decorated for Halloween yet, although I have to get on the ball as my DIL and granddaughter will be here by the end of this coming week and I want it all spookified for them. Funny to see the gold goblets and water glasses in your china cabinet - they are the same ones I got with my mom's china set. The kids love them.

Yes, I know what you mean unpacking everything - an odious chore for me if not in the mood - I hurriedly got out what I could find first for the decor of Vanessa's Halloween Blog party.

I must say I love your pics from last year - I also have a white hutch and white walls, I love how you coordinated it all with your beautiful pieces - looks fabulous!

love it!
Especially the pumpkins. I make pumpkin heads that look simular to yours. So understand about the draging things out and in for such a short period of time. That's why I just did the old radio by the frontdoor this year. 0 spiderwebs in the front!
thanks for visiting my site.

Love the decorations and your blog. I don't have nearly that many and almost try to have an autumn feel to them that I can carry over for Thanksgiving.
It was fun meeting you.

Love all the Halloween decor! I just bought a kitchen island, and I pray my daughter doesn't come across your "candy bar" idea. She will think that's the perfect place for it too!

I hear ya, sister, on the "dragging decorations out" thing. I'm getting so bad I'm even poo pooing Christmas....Fortunately, my husband would NEVER allow that, and he's very good about getting it all out and putting it all back, so I can't complain.

Your last year's decorations were awesome! Great photos, too, despite the fact you think you suck at photos.

I found your post while searching for lace curtains. Love last years decorations - yes I know that's a lot of work - but if you enjoy the completed look - then you should go ahead and do it!
