I need to ask for prayers y'all!

My grandson, Noah (3 mos) is having seizures. Full-blown grand mal seizures! He had 4 on Monday but after reading the literature, we suspect that he may have been having petit mal seizures for some time. They have done all the tests...spinal tap, cat scan, bloodwork, EEG & MRI & can find nothing. Which is good, they say. Without a pathological cause, he will probably outgrow them.

It's really, really scary to watch! To see that tiny baby's eyes roll back & his body stiffen & then spasm is horrifying. He even turns blue but they say he is in no danger of suffocating, because if his brain becomes deprived of oxygen, the seizure will just stop.

My heart is breaking for Clifton...he's been through (& is still going through) so much & now this. And poor Stacie too! As new parents, they are already unsure of themselves & to have to deal w/ something so terrifying... it's just almost too much. They are holding up well though. Stacie told me yesterday that Clifton's accident was good training for this...it sure taught us a lot about holding it together! Noah is scheduled to be released from the hospital later today but will need to continue w/ anti-seizure meds for at least the first year.

Please pray for my grandbaby... I am a firm believer in the power of prayers & if you could all just take a minute to send one up for Noah, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you.

  3. Poor baby. He is in my prayers.
A friend of mine's baby girl has unexplained siezures. She is being seen at the siezure clinic at our local childrens hospital. Very scary stuff ecspecially when the Dr's say it's nothing to worry about. Easy for them to say.

My son has petit mal seizures, has had them since shortly after he graduated from college. He is a new father, too. Their baby will be a year old next month.
